I am so excited to be returning to Cactus Ranch Elementary as a second grade teacher. It's hard to believe this will be my Twentieth year working with these young minds. Wow, time sure does fly when you’re having fun! Second grade is an important year for students as they continue to grow as readers, writers and problem solvers. I'm always amazed and inspired each day as they become independent thinkers.
The oldest of three girls, and as an Air Force brat, I have traveled the globe with my family making friends wherever the military sent us. We adventured around the world, and in the process, found my love for teaching. After graduating from high school in Okinawa, Japan, I flew the coop and headed to Southwest Texas State University, now known as Texas State University. Following my dream to work with children, I completed my Bachelors of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies-Early Childhood. In the fall of 1995, I accepted a position teaching third grade in the San Antonio Independent School District and in 1999 continuing my love for teaching in the Northeast ISD.
When not teaching, you can find me spending time with my family. My husband, Mark, and I love Watching our son play Football for Round Rock High School and baseball. If we are not at the is field with Nick, you can find us cheering on our Aggies and Spurs. We attend the games whenever we have the opportunity. My hobbies are reading, going to concerts, traveling, good food, and most importantly spending time with family, friends and enjoying life!
